Histories in Hawaii is the Hawaii Criminal Justice Data Center Because some individuals will use an alias at the time of their arrest, the records search is supplemented by fingerprints. Therefore, all criminal histories are tied into the fingerprints. If you wish to conduct a fingerprint search then, you'll need to provide a clear image of the prints of the offender. The public can also conduct a name-based search as well and can support their search with such details as social security number, birth date, and gender. Access the eCrim Site to Obtain a Criminal Record Online If you wish to conduct a search, you can begin online by accessing the Hawaii Adult Criminal Information Website, also referred to as eCrim. The cost of going online and obtaining an eCrim report is $15.00 and can be paid with a credit card. Public access sites are also available throughout Hawaii where you can search for a criminal history by the person's name and personal details, such as social security number, gender, and birth date. Again, you'll need to pay $15.00 for each search copy with a money order, cash, or cashier's check. No Personal Checks are Accepted for Records Obtained in Person or through the Mail You can also ask the HCJDC to perform a search by completing a form at the center or by contacting them in writing. The address is: Hawaii Criminal Justice Center 465 S. King Street, Rm. 101 Honolulu, HI 96813 If you use this search method, you'll be required to pay $20 for each request, which can be paid by cash, money order, or cashier's check. No personal checks are accepted. Expunging your Criminal History If you were previously arrested but not convicted of a crime, you can have the record expunged, thereby making the record unavailable to the public. The fee for expunging a record is $35.00 with any subsequent requests assessed at $50.00. You can pay with a money order or cashier's check, making the payment payable to the State of Hawaii. However, if you choose to visit the HCJDC in person, then payment can be made by cash. It takes four months or 120 days to facilitate an expungement. All arrests on your history, until that time, will stay intact until the process is completed and you receive a certificate. When making application, it's recommended that you include the dismissal order as well.
